I was recently sent this gorgeous creme blush* from cult beauty brand Youngblood. They describe it as ‘a cream textured blush combining a shimmering glow with sheer, long wearing colour’.
I have always been unsure about creme blushers (I have always tended to be pretty un-experimental in sticking to my Bobbi Brown powder blush favourite). However I have recently switched from foundation to the new Bobbi Brown BB Cream (more on that later) and as such a creme blusher is just as easy to use. I liked that the product was oil free as that was one of the reasons I had swapped from foundation and it also contained Allantoin which is a moisturising botanical and anti irritant. I applied the blush with my fingers – I used the shade ‘Taffeta’ which was perfect for my skin tone – and blended lightly.
Overall I was really impressed, it gave a lovely sheer coverage that stayed put all day – I loved the slightly shimmery effect (apologies for a lack of picture here, the effect just didn’t come out on the camera as it looks in real life - perhaps its my face haha). I also used powder blusher over the top in the evening for a more dramatic look. The creme blush retails at £24 – it is on the pricey side but I would estimate it will last for a pretty long time so it’s not bad value for money. It will definitely be part of my day to day beauty regime now!
I saw the range of Youngblood products recently at their Foundation Bar at the new Selfridges Beauty Workshop. I love the clean, simple branding and I’m sure they will do really well in such a premium location right in the middle of the floor.
